This course explores the practical, ethical, and legal considerations that we need to make when moving from in-person to online therapy. This course will cover working with individual adults, young people, couples, and overseas clients.

  • Understand how to set up your own space to offer the best online service for clients that is both warm and professional
  • Understand potential boundary and risk issues that could arise from not being in the room with the client and how to manage these during contracting
  • Understand how technology can help or hinder our use of certain therapeutic approaches and how to adapt these to online practice

  • Gain an awareness of potential legal and ethical regulations of working online, particularly when working with clients overseas





 

This professional skills course offers an exploration of the important considerations we need to make when adapting from in-person to online therapeutic practice. 

Learners will leave with an 'essential toolkit', gaining an awareness of how to set up their own space for online therapy, knowledge of what technological expertise are required, an understanding of how to adapt their current therapeutic practice for online work, and an awareness of potential legal and ethical issues that may arise when working online, particulrly with clients residing overseas. 

This flexible programme can be completed at a time and pace convenient to the individual learner. It is a combination of short, instructor-led webinars, independent learning, and reflective exercises.
